How to Renew Your Residence Permit

The renewal process should be initiated at least two months prior to the expiration of the 5-year residence card. The steps include:

• Document Review: Verify passport validity. Obtain an updated property ownership certificate from the Land Registry proving the investment is still held.
• Insurance Renewal: Renew the health insurance policies covering medical costs in Greece.
• Fee Payments: Pay the required renewal government fees.
• Biometrics Update: Book an appointment and visit the immigration office to update the biometric fingerprint records.

Late renewal applications are subject to a €100 administrative fine. Applications submitted after the card's expiration date cannot be processed.
